Strands of Hope
Sarah McCauley founded a non-profit called "Strands of Hope" when she was 12 years old when her uncle, Tim McCauley, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She began knitting scarves, selling them, and donating the money to brain tumor research. The organization began to grow and today she has received donations of scarves and yarn from everywhere across the country and has raised over $20,000 for brain tumor research. Her Uncle Tim has since passed away, but the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center holds a special place for her because her uncle received such great care here at Duke. Sarah is from Georgia but is currently a freshman at UNC Chapel Hill. Please join Sarah in her fight to help the Duke research investigators find a cure for brain tumor cancer.
