Mark and the Rumpshakers
Mark Blotzer is a 66 year old father of 3 beautiful children, husband to wife Janet for 45 yrs, and grandfather of 4 grandkids and 3 grandpups. He retired from the State of North Carolina as a patient advocate in December of 2016. Among his favorite things are the Pittsburgh Steelers, lighthouses, civil war memorabilia, and traveling between each of his children's homes for various activities.
He was diagnosed with Stage 3 rectal cancer in October 2016 and went through 6 weeks of Chemo and Radiation followed by abdominoperineal resection in February 2017. Four days before the March 2017 race, he began a four month chemo regimen, but he was determined to finish and he did. This will be Mark's 2nd 5k.
Throughout the entire process, Mark has remained positive and lighthearted. Our team slogan is Tough Times Never Last. Tough People Do!
