Sara's Page for Team We Love Lucy
Hey pals! If you're reading this, you probably already know how much I loved Mom, and how important funding research and treatment for colorectal cancer is. As a result, I'm running in the Duke Crush Colorectal Cancer 5k for the second year in a row to raise money for the Duke Cancer Institute. (I walked in the 2016 5k as well.) They were so wonderful for Mom, and I would like to honor her legacy by helping them to continue their work.
I turn 25 this year, and in honor of this, I decided to issue you all a little challenge: I'm putting up $250 to match a goal of $250 from friends and family, for a total of $500. It would mean a lot to me to reach this goal, and really, that's like $10 each from 25 people. If you were planning to get me a birthday present this year, this is what I want for my birthday.
Still not convinced? Everyone who donated on my behalf last year was sent a handwritten thank you note. If you need more incentive than that, we can talk about, like, Patreon-style tiers. Also, I don't actually know what's happening with the tax code right now, but I think you can still list these donations on your taxes for deductions.
If you've made it this far, thanks for reading, and I hope you have a lovely day.
(P.S. If you are at or over 50 and have not yet had a colonoscopy, please talk to your doctor about that!)
