Keeping the Faith/In loving memory of Don Kramer
It is that time again for the Duke University Angels Among Us 5K Run/Walk. This will be my fifth year participating in Don's memory. For those of you who are not familiar with our story, my husband, Don, was diagnosed with a GBM (glioblastoma multiforme) tumor in April 2011. After a brave fight of 19 months, he went home to the Lord on November 29, 2012.
Your donations, prayers, and participation are wonderful ways to be part of this memorable day. It allows us to come alongside those who continue their fight with brain cancer, have been newly diagnosed, are caring for a loved one, or run in a loved one's memory. It is an emotional day to say the least, but mainly it is a day of hope and healing.
Your prayers, love and support have meant the world to me and my family. I found a beautiful garden where I pray before the event. Please let me know of any prayer requests you might have. I know we all have been affected by cancer in one way or another. My prayers continue long after that day.
Our verse for Don - 2 Timothy 4:6-8 ". . . the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
