Team Volunteer Pilots
Throughout the country thousands of pilots regularly donate their time or aircraft to help those in need; in fact, more than 80 organizations depend on volunteer pilots to make flights under programs known as public benefit flying. These groups include Angel Flight and Lifeline Pilots (transport for medical care), Pilots N Paws (animal rescue), South Wings and Light Hawk (conservation), and Wright Flight and EAA Young Eagles (education) ... just to name a few.
In 2014 I made my first 5k run in the Angels Among Us race to honor a fellow pilot's son who passed from brain cancer. If you are a volunteer pilot or simply interested in this group, let's join together on Saturday, April 29th and help raise money for the Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke. Whether you walk or run ... it's all good!
