On December 19, 2005 My husband of 30 years was diagnosed with a brain tumor. A few days later it was determined that he had one of the deadliest of tumors, a glioblastoma multiform or GBM for short. Lou went through surgery, radiation and chemo. He was able to continue back to work and coaching after only being out two weeks. In part to improved treatments.
We had 4 more wonderful years together. Lou was there for the birth of our first two grand kids and our third sons wedding. On December 14, 2009, Lou passed away, Without brain tumor research, new medicines and treatments, this would not have been the case. I am very thankful for those 4 additional years that God made possible through Brain Tumor Treatment.
Brain Tumor Research was very important to Lou. He participated in clinical study while on chemo to help further research. The Lou Beeler Foundation hosts a Golf tournament each year with half the proceeds going to UVA Brain Tumor Research.
It is because of this, that I have decide to accepted the challenge of participating in the 19th Annual Angels Among Us 5K & Family Fun Walk.n the Charlotte gRACE.
Won't you join me in supporrt, even if your reason is not listed below:
To support Marcus and Lauren Deel, whom Lou loved very much.
Continue to support and raise awareness for Brain Tumor Research
In memory of Lou, who I love and miss dearly.
In honor or memory of a friend or family member who is fighting or has fought cancer in any form.
Any amount will help me reach my goal. Please consider as little as $5 or $10.
Thank you,
Sandy
