Michael Kramer

In Memory of Michael B. Kramer
August 24, 1949 to February 02, 1999

Michael was my life. He was a loving man who touched the life of everyone who was lucky enough to cross paths with him. What a kind, generous man he was. One that exemplified the definition of integrity and honesty. A good fair business man but also a man to be reckoned with if the need arose. Although we were not blessed with children, he was a wonderful uncle and Godfather, he was everybody's favorite, Uncle Mike. You couldn't find a better friend than Mike Kramer. Everyone was his best friend and what a funny man he was.

He was so ornery and silly sometimes that he would make you laugh until your stomach hurt. No matter how old he was there was always the boy in him. He could build or fix anything. He loved working on old sports cars especially Austin Healey's. Michael left an impression everywhere that he went. You knew that you had met Mike Kramer. He truly was a gift from God and those of us who had the pleasure of sharing his life will never ever forget him.

He was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Grade 4 on October 17, 1997 (The day our life changed forever). After his surgery the doctors were pretty direct in saying that Michael maybe had 6 months to live and to get his affairs in order. Michael was a very strong independent man prior to his diagnosis and he kind of lost his determination around this time. I was determined that we would fight with everything that we both had to make him a survivor. The long and short of it is that until we met Henry and the rest of the folks at the Brain Tumor Center we felt that we were fighting alone. Michael connected with Henry in a way that he hadn't connected with anyone since his diagnosis. Henry gave him hope and the desire to fight again. I will forever be grateful for this. You see it gave us an additional 9 months of quality time. The tumor did not take Michael, a blood clot going to his lungs did. We were beating the Tumor thanks to Henry Friedman and the Brain Tumor Center.
