Christopher Cash

In Memory of Christopher Cash
May 25, 1972 - May 16, 1994

Our son Christopher Cash was diagnosed with a brain tumor in November of 1992 while he was a student at Western Carolina University. He bravely fought the tumor for 18 months with the help of Henry Friedman and staff at the Brain Tumor Center at Duke.

The first 5K and Family Walk to raise money for research at Duke was held in March before Christopher died in May. He was in the hospital at the time, but insisted that they let him out to go to the first walk. Many of his Sigma Nu brothers and other friends were at the event with us that day and have continued to come every year. We were honored that the Walk Committee asked to dedicate the 2nd event to Christopher.

I have stayed involved with the Brain Tumor Center and with the Angels Among Us because I believe in the Doctors at Duke and that at Duke there is hope, and also because I have to continue Christopher's fight against this deadly disease.

Mary Woodall, Christopher's Mom
