In Memory of David Bailey - Written by David before his passing. David was a 14 year survivor
My name is David M. Bailey. I was diagnosed with a GBM in 1996. After 2 surgeries, 2 biopsies, Temodar, radiation, VP-16, CCNU, Tamoxifin, and monoclonal antibodies, I‘m still here. Lots of drugs and lots of hope and lots of prayer...
At Duke there is hope—a hope that will not and does not die. One step at a time, one day at a time, one moment at a time, armed with dreams for a better world and faith that it will be. I am a better, stronger man today for all I have seen and for all Duke has done. Duke—a homeland for dreamers and doers and mavericks and ministers, a haven for healing and a castle of courage, but mostly that place in my heart where so many have spent time and made their amazing, permanent mark of life.
Peace—
David

One year later...
Another clean scan! At Duke there is still Hope!
