Christina Smith  Christina Smith 2022-Celebrating 30 years! 30 years ago(1992) I was diagnosed with a Medullablastoma, I was 8. When they found it, it was almost immediately removed. I spent another 2 months in and out of the hospital for recovery and tests. I had 8 weeks of full head and spine radiation which made me sick everyday and lost my hair on my 9th Birthday. It's been 30 years and time to celebrate!!! I want to thank my wonderful surgeon Jerry Oaks and his team for getting that sucker out and also Dr Henry Friedman for all his amazing work with me!!! I owe Duke University hospital and these men my life!!!! I may be a Wildcat( I live in KY) but DUKE will always hold a special place in my ❤️ |
